Cleaning in automotive industry

Component cleaning in the automotive industry is a decisive component in ensuring the quality criterion of cleanliness.

With each generation, the complexity of the vehicles is constantly increasing and with it the cleanliness requirements, because even the smallest particles at the wrong component locations can cause damage.

Common cleaning methods are included:

• Aqueous cleaning,

• Solvent-,

• Dry ice,

• CO2 snow,

• Plasma up to the

• Laser cleaning.

The respective process is selected according to the type of contamination and the component materials. High-precision components can only be manufactured under clean production conditions. Purity guidelines (VDA 19) make technical cleanliness verifiable. It is, therefore, becoming increasingly important for the automotive industry to exploit optimization potential in the field of component cleaning in the face of international competition.
