On May 3 and 4, 2023, the InnoVET conference of the BMBF took place in Berlin. We are happy that our colleague Frank-Holm Rögner was allowed to attend as a selected representative of the InnoVET project "CLOU- Future Cluster for Innovative Vocational Education". He reported in his contribution about the importance and the successes in the development of an examined advanced training in the quality-determining field of activity of the industrial parts cleaning and the experiences gained with participants in the evaluation phase. Along with 16 other InnoVET projects, CLOU is one of the first to demonstrate the potential of a vocational specialist training program and is nearing completion of this work package ahead of schedule.

CLOU offers training opportunities for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries at DQR levels 5 to 7, creating bridge qualifications for horizontal and vertical continuing education. In addition, supplementary qualifications are being created for physics, chemistry and biology laboratory technicians, such as "Industrial Cleaning Technology". The goal is reliable learning path and career planning based on personalized as well as company-specific measures.

In the conversation with Minister of State Bettina Stark-Watzinger, it once again became clear that the importance of industrial parts cleaning for current societal challenges, such as the energy transition, electromobility, etc., continues to be underestimated and that high-quality training is an important step towards greater visibility and appreciation for this field of action.
