The conference series "Fouling and Cleaning in Food Processing (FCFP)" under the motto "Food Safety and Net Zero Emissions" took place from March 25 to 27, 2025, at the Penck Hotel in Dresden.
The international conference series on hygienic and sustainable cleaning for safe processing in food production brought together participants from around the world involved in hygienic production and research with its interdisciplinary character.
With 8 sessions spread over three days, all participants received a comprehensive insight into these topics:
- Digitalization and application of AI in the monitoring and control of fouling and cleaning processes
- Sustainability and Resilience in food production
- Cleaning and disinfection procedures
- Fouling and cleaning of membranes and heat transfer systems
- Additive manufacturing of product-contacting surfaces
- Surfaces and surface coatings
- Monitoring and analysis of fouling and cleaning processes
- Challenges for the circular economy in hygienic production
The participants also had the opportunity to exchange new findings and develop new approaches to solving these challenges through stimulating discussions, poster sessions, and awards. There was also a special highlight: the opportunity to gain insights behind-the-scenes of regional companies, such as Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH, through industry tours.
The Fraunhofer IVV Dresden – a FRei member – was the main organizer of this conference, which was held in cooperation with TU Dresden, continuing the series of meetings that began in Lund, Sweden, in 1981.
