McDonald's Germany Suppliers OPEX-Council - LFEO Workshop on the Topic of "Cleaning"
Under the leadership of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, the members of the OPEX-Council met for an LFEO (learning from each other) workshop on the topic of "Cleaning" for the first time at Fraunhofer FEP. Record participation demonstrated the high relevance of the topics of cleaning and hygienization in this council, which has been taking place for more than 10 years.
The live demonstration of a laser-assisted surface cleaning process illustrated the potential of new technologies to support cleaning processes in the food industry. Fraunhofer FEP also presented various innovative, efficient, and sustainable cleaning and hygiene technologies for industrial applications. In addition to some brief content-related technological overview presentations, the focus of the event was ultimately on the moderated exchange of practical experience.
The open and fact-based discussion on challenges and optimization potential in cleaning and hygienization processes led to many "aha moments" for the participants, as these processes are particularly relevant to safety and costs. The intensive professional exchange provided valuable insights into existing processes and simultaneously showed possibilities for optimization and efficiency gains as well as the joint development of practical solution approaches. Many topics were initiated that will continue to have an impact in different groups.
