Fraunhofer-Business Area Cleaning
In February, it was that time again. From February 25 - 26, 2026, the maintenance trade fair took place in Dortmund. The leading trade fair for industrial maintenance was the ideal platform to exchange ideas about the latest innovations and trends. Fraunhofer FEP was part of the joint booth of the Fraunhofer Smart Maintenance Community (SMC) alongside 18 other Fraunhofer institutes.
Once again, it was demonstrated that cleaning is indispensable when it comes to maintenance. FRei member Frank-Holm Rögner from Fraunhofer FEP was on-site as a representative of the Fraunhofer Business Area Cleaning. He is a member of the SMC and had the opportunity to engage in many exciting discussions about cleaning processes in maintenance at the fair.
The SMC informed attendees about the areas of predictive maintenance, spare parts management, artificial intelligence, and the future of maintenance. Fraunhofer FEP presented “SustClean – sustainable cleaning through in-place generation of cleaning media.” An innovation based on plasma-treated liquids.
With over 250 exhibitors from more than 10 countries, the maintenance fair was a great success this year as well. We are already looking forward to the next maintenance fair and the innovative solutions in maintenance that we will now develop for our partners.
